Biography of your teacher:
Yuka Yahagi is a pianist and accomplished piano teacher with a Masters degree in Piano Performance (M.Mus.) from University of Hawai'i at Manoa where she studied with Drs. Jonathan Korth and Thomas Rosenkranz. She currently teaches students of all ages at her Honolulu studio and at Punahou Music School. Yuka is currently President of the Honolulu Piano Teachers Association and has been a board member for years.
Born and raised in Japan, Yuka started her piano studies at the age of three, finding success in local competitions. Throughout and even after her studies at UH Manoa, she enjoys performing both solo and collaborating concerts at various venues such as UH's Orvis Auditorium, the Honolulu Museum of Art, St. Andrew's church, the Waialae country club and retirement homes in the community. She has served as a pianist for the UH Wind Ensemble, UH Choirs, and judged the Morning Music Club's annual competition held at Punahou school in 2013. Additionally, she was recognized as a top music teacher by Steinway & Sons in 2016.
